Interview: Kayla of @MindCrazed

Welcome back to my interview series, where I ask up-and-coming young writers and bloggers to talk about their blog, their writing, and answer a few silly questions along the way!

This week, from Sweden, I have the lovely Kayla!

Welcome to my blog! Where are you from? Do you still live there?

Thanks! I’m from Sweden and unfortunately I still live here. I live in a small(ish) town called Eskilstuna, which is about 120 kilometres away from our capital. Okay so maybe not that small. We just passed 100,000 people last year.
I want to move, far away.

Why are you a writer? Was there a book or author who inspired you?

Oh God. This is a hard question. I guess I’m a writer for the same reason I’m a reader. Escaping reality and stuff. I’ve been through a lot in life so reading and writing are means to escape that life. I’m not sure where I’d be without it.
So this is going to sound bad. People will hate me. But the first thing I seriously wrote was Twilight fanfiction. Yup, you read right. I think I was 14 when I first read Twilight and I fell in love instantaneously.

Twilight fanfic, really? I…don’t know what to say. What are you currently working on? What was the inspiration for it?

I’m working on several things, though most have completely stalled. One is an Avengers fanfic, but I haven’t written anything in 6 months so, yeah. The other is about a girl who has an interesting past/present/future with Death (as a person). I thought of that idea after I’d read Abandon by Meg Cabot, though it’s all my own. Greek mythology and what not. Third is a recent one, it could go any direction. We’ll see.
I’ve also, after all this Mortal Instruments hysteria, come up with an idea for a fanfic, which is what I’m trying to start writing as we speak (or write).

When somebody reads your work (current or future), what do you want them to say/feel?

I want them to fall in love with it as much as I have. But I also value honest opinions so if someone doesn’t like it they’re welcome to tell me. Criticism is good.

Aside from your current fanfic work, what’s a genre or type of book that you’d really like to write one day?

I’d love to write a New Adult Romance novel or something like that. Romance overall really. Smutty, steamy goodness.

Silly question time! Bourne, Bond, Bauer. One is Hunting you, one is Protecting you, one is Dating you. Which one is which?

Okay who is Bauer? *goes to google* Oh it’s the dude from 24? I’ve never seen that *coughs*
Do I guess that Bauer is hunting me (is he even good at that? Let’s hope not). Bourne is protecting me and Bond is dating me. I mean that dude knows how to work the ladies, am I right? Pierce Brosnan as Bond though.

(Um, Bauer probably wasn’t the best choice there…) Another silly question! A new book has just been released by your favorite author, in your favorite series! Who is the author, and which series is it from?

Crap this is a hard one! I have a few favorite authors but my most favorite author (Wendy Higgins) already has a new book coming out in September and I was lucky enough to get an ARC (Sweet Temptation)! But if I have to say something I’d say that Christina Lee has written Alex’s story. What happens after or before Two of Hearts. I happen to know that she actually has written this. It’s just a matter of whether it’s getting published or not. Fingers crossed!

You’re having a dinner party, and you invited three fictional characters. Who’s coming to dinner?

Dang it! Another hard one. Hmm. *strokes beard* Jesus this is hard. Okay. So Kell from A Darker Shade of Magic. He can show me some tricks. Also be his usual sassy self. Elizabeth from The Witch Hunter. She and Kell can be sassy together. Although Elizabeth is a witch hunter and Kell sort of counts as a witch so now I guess we need someone who can sort things out if they get messy right? But who? *thinks intensely* I’m gonna go with Toraf from The Syrena Legacy series. He’s strong, he’s great in a fight and he’s funny as hell.
*exhales* That was hard!

If you could erase one book from your memory, what would it be, and why?

I don’t think I’ve read a book that’s so bad I want to erase it from my memory. But there’re books I’d like to forget so I can read them all over again for the first time. Like Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins and Twilight (just to see if it’s as good this time).

And finally, where can people find you on the internet?
